This Sunday, April 19, 2026, English language services will be from 8:30 am to 9:30. Our monk Thay Chuc Do will give the Dharma talk. An informal coffee social will be held after the service.
Note: Please park in the front parking area and grass area. This way your car will not get blocked in when the Vietnamese community arrives for the 10:15 AM service
Saturday, April 18, 5:30 to 6:30 PM – Next Open Meditation Hour @ BMC
All are welcome to join us for meditation in a peaceful, informal setting. We will provide brief guidance early in the hour and have an interval bell throughout. Cushions and chairs provided, but attendees are welcome to bring their own. Attendees may come and go or switch between sitting and standing meditation as needed.

We’re hosting a community yard sale fundraiser on Saturday, April 18 and Saturday, April 25, from 9:30 am to noon at 5535 Florist Rd, Roanoke, VA 24012.
Every purchase goes directly toward building our new Roanoke temple — a permanent home for Buddha Mountain Center and a space of peace and mindfulness for our whole community.
This is a multi-family sale with whole-congregation donations — you’ll find great deals on clothing, small appliances & electronics, RC cars & toys, home decor, accessories, and much more.
We’ll also be serving complimentary tea — come shop, save, and take a quiet moment for yourself.

Sunday Service
Our Sunday Service lasts 60 minutes. A Guidebook is provided which includes the chanted words and mantras. The general outline of the service is shown below:
- Introduction / Incense Offering /Dedication of Merit
- Chanting – Guided with Instruments and Bells
- Pre-Meditation Mantra
- Silent Meditation (10 – 15 mins)
- Dharma Talk ( 5 – 10 mins)
- Open Discussion (up to 20 mins)
Our Sunday English language services are usually from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. However, approximately once a month the Sunday Service is held in the afternoon due to a food fundraiser in the morning.
