This Sunday, May 24, 2026, we celebrate the Buddha’s Birthday – Vesak Day !!! Thay Chuc Do will lead the service and be joined by monks from the Dong Hung Temple. It is an outdoor event under our big tent. Singing, ceremonial dancing, chanting, eating. Please see the schedule and photo below. We hope you can join us.
May 24 – Buddha Birthday Celebration
9:30 AM: Waffle Breakfast – Waffles, strawberries, orange juice, coffee, – FREE
10:30 AM: Welcome to Baby Buddha Ceremony
10:45 AM: Main Ceremony ( Chanting, Bathing the Baby Buddha, Dharma Talk)
12:30 PM: Offering to the Sangha Ceremony, Entertainment, Luncheon – FREE
2:00 PM: Offering of the Hungry Ghost’s Ceremony
Sunday Service
Our Sunday Service lasts 60 minutes. A Guidebook is provided which includes the chanted words and mantras. The general outline of the service is shown below:
- Introduction / Incense Offering /Dedication of Merit
- Chanting – Guided with Instruments and Bells
- Pre-Meditation Mantra
- Silent Meditation (10 – 15 mins)
- Dharma Talk ( 5 – 10 mins)
- Open Discussion (up to 20 mins)
Our Sunday English language services are usually from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. However, approximately once a month the Sunday Service is held in the afternoon due to a food fundraiser in the morning.
