Join the BMC Temple\u2019s English group for our first field trip to the Dong Hung Temple in Virginia  Beach, VA on March 14 \u2013 15, 2026. Don\u2019t miss this opportunity to visit our brother\/sister Buddhist\u2019s and  discover how they do it. This will be an event filled weekend! We will get a guided tour of the temple,  participate in the Dong Hung Temple service, attend the Temple\u2019s monthly meditation hour, pay respects to our  Abbot Thay Chuc Do\u2019s mother\u2019s death, meet the Dong Hung Sangha members at a social, spend the night at the temple and walk on the beach. There will also be quite time on Saturday evening when you can relax at the  temple. There may be additional, optional activities planned. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will be living the life of a monk. The temple has simple accommodations for both male and female  guests in four separate group rooms. You will be sleeping on an air mattresses on the floor. Bring your own  bedding or a sleeping bag. There are 4 bathrooms. There is a kitchen for simple food prep. You are free to bring your own food and snacks. I will be asking for volunteers to drive their car for carpooling. Your only cost will  be and food and shared gas\/toll expenses (passengers only). An optional donation to the Temple would be a  respectful act. You can participate in the activities as much or as little as you like. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2:00 PM \u2013 Monthly Dong Hung Temple Meditation for Peace (1 hr) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3:00 PM \u2013 Free time (optional beach walking meditation) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6:00 PM \u2013 Dinner (restaurant, take-out or bring your own) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

7:30 PM \u2013 Free time <\/p>\n\n\n\n

7:45 AM \u2013 Dong Hung weekly English Service (1 hr) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

9:00 AM \u2013 Breakfast and social hour at McDonalds <\/p>\n\n\n\n

10:30 AM \u2013 Abbot Thay Chuc Do\u2019s mother funeral service (1 \u00bd hr) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

12:00 PM \u2013 Lunch at the Temple <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2:00 PM \u2013 Leave for BMC Temple, Roanoke <\/p>\n\n\n\n
